Brookfield Home Inspections is a New Jersey certified and fully insured home inspection company serving the North Jersey area covering most of Essex, Union, Hudson, Bergen, Passaic and Morris counties.

My name is Martin Slon, founder of Brookfield Home Inspections. I take great pride in the work I do as well as the relationships I build with my clients and realtors. My mission is to provide you with a hassle-free, professional, detailed and unbiased inspection in a timely manner as well as to earn your trust and become part of your advisory team as you make your home purchase. It is a point of pride that I am also always available to advise after the inspection is complete.
I have a BS in Civil Engineering and well over a decade of experience designing, managing and executing various types of construction projects. I have also been admitted to the Institution of Civil Engineers.
I have experience as a licensed NJ contractor working in residential construction and renovations. In addition to my construction background I am an active property investor, managing and maintaining a portfolio of multifamily homes. I also spent two decades working in business roles in industry and consulting.

I hold Home Inspector certification from the State of NJ and through InterNACHI, Radon test certification from the State of NJ and am trained and certified by InterNACHI to perform Wood Destroying Insect (WDI) inspections and Mold testing.
And a little about me personally. I live in a house built in the 1870's and have personally renovated or repaired just about every aspect of it. I am the proud father of four grown kids, human to a labrador-golden retriever mix named Murray, and have fostered 6 seeing eye puppies over the years who go on to do amazing work with the blind. Murray is a trained therapy dog, and when I am not inspecting homes you can find us visiting hospitals, schools and libraries. I also like to keep physically active. I am on track in the next 2-3 years to have run a marathon-per-decade for five decades.
My background and experience makes me confident that I can promise you will experience the highest levels of professionalism, service and value to make your home buying experience as low stress as possible. I treat every inspections as if I am working on a personal project, taking the same care and consideration I would want of an inspection done for me.
